Kabza De Small is making headlines after winning big at the annual Metro FM Music Awards, which took place at Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga on Saturday.
Tebogo ProVerb Thekisho and Luthando LootLove Shosha hosted the awards.
Amapiano sensation Kabza De Small was the night’s biggest winner, winning four awards. His smash hit Imithandazo, from his collaborative album with Mthunzi Ndimande, Isimo, outshined several smash hits, including Horns in the Sun and Mnike in several categories.
However, Kabza De Small and Mthunzi Ndimande featured Young Stunna, DJ Maphorisa, Sizwe Alakine, and Umthakathi Kush on the smash hit. Kabza De Small did not attend the awards despite being one of the most nominated stars.
However, he won Best Collaboration, Best Amapiano, Song of the Year and Best Produced Album for Isimo. Mthunzi Ndimande accepted all the awards they had won.

Each award category received a whopping R50 000. However, the Song of the Year winner walked away with R150 000. Kabza De Small and walked away with R300 000.
However, against the awards, fans flooded social media with congratulatory messages to the winner. Mzansi was quick to give Makhadzi’s win a nod. Over the years, the celebrated star musician has spoken about how Limpopo artists are sidelined at several awards.
In 2021, she was snubbed by the South African Music Awards. Against the snub, fans took to social media to air their grievances. However, the award-winning star was unfazed and announced that she would continue entering the awards.
