A Ferrari 599 GTO is trending after the police pulled it over. The video has undoubtedly gained thousands of comments and reactions since it dropped on the internet.

Popular car spotter RTM Supercars South Africa first shared the now-viral video.

R18 MILLION FERRARI 599 GTO PULLED OVER

Taking to Instagram, RTM Supercars South Africa posted, “599 GTO x POLICE. You know you’ve made it in life when you get pulled over multiple times just for the officers to admire the car you’re in.”

“Costing in excess of R10 million, this is certainly not cheap at all. Would you buy one or get a Pista or something else entirely,” RTM Supercars South Africa added.

Could this be the Ferrari 599 Grand Turismo Omologato spotted in Durban a few months ago? Against the post, petrolheads were quick to give the car a nod.

After all, how much is one of the world’s fastest cars? Surprisingly, dealerships in South Africa don’t have the Ferrari 599 GTO on sale. Five Ferrari 599 GTOs have been listed for sale this year on Classic.com. Three already have new owners. R15 million was the lowest price tag a few weeks ago.

However, the other two are still available for purchase. One of the listed cars has no price tag, while the other has a price tag of $999 900, which amounts to R18.8 million.

WHY IS IT RARE?

The 599 GTO is rare, with only 599 units on the market with 125 units in the US. However, despite having 599 units on the market, the Ferrari GTO is one of the fastest cars from the 599 line, which is road-legal. It is the legal road version of the famous 599XX track car.

The Ferrari 599 GTO is one of the fastest Ferraris and one second faster than the Ferrari Enzo. Ferrari claims it can accelerate from 0-100km/h in less than 3.3 seconds. It boasts a top speed of 335km/h. However, two other models of the Ferrari GTO include the 1962 250 GTO and the 1984 GTO.

Last year, the Royal AM chairman was pulled over by the police while driving his Nissan GT-R, famously known as ‘Godzilla.’ Andile Mpisane often trends whenever he takes the car for a spin. Despite having an impressive fleet that costs a fortune, the Nissan GT-R is one of his favourites.
