Son rescued from collapsed building after 30 hours trapped

Amidst the chaos and devastation of a collapsed building in George, a father’s agony turned to overwhelming relief as his son emerged alive after an arduous 30-hour ordeal.

George tragedy: A total of 44 workers still unaccounted for 

The George building collapse tragedy has left a total of 44 workers still unaccounted for.

On Thursday, authorities revealed that there were 81 workers on the site, not the initially reported 75.

The George Municipality, requested that members of the public avoid the surroundings of the incident site at Victoria Street.

Ntando Sogoni: SA man arrested for allegedly stabbing people in a US cruise ship

South African national Ntando Sogoni faces a ten-year prison sentence and over R4 million in fines after authorities arrested him for allegedly stabbing multiple people with a medical scissor on a cruise liner abroad.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office in the District of Alaska, the incident happened on Monday, 6 May and Sogoni was arrested on Tuesday. 

Academic and former ConCourt Justice Yvonne Mokgoro dies

Former Constitutional Court Justice Yvonne Mokgoro has died.

Mokgoro died at a hospital in Johannesburg, Gauteng on Thursday, 9 May.
