Final five Kaizer Chiefs fixtures of 2023/2024 season revealed

Kaizer Chiefs face their toughest test of the season next week in the form of a clash against rivals Mamelodi Sundowns FC.

Kaizer Chiefs will be raring to go again after picking up a crucial DStv Premiership victory over SuperSport United this weekend.

Goals by Christian Saile and Mduduzi Shabalala earned the Glamour Boys a grueling 2-1 victory over Matsatsatsantsa.

The victory means Johnson’s side climbed back into the top eight with just five matches to go.

Next up for Johnson’s Kaizer Chiefs is a blockbuster clash against rivals Mamelodi Sundowns on Thursday 02 May.

The Glamour Boys then enjoy a 10 day break before facing AmaZulu, away from home, on 12 May.

A week later, Chiefs host Polokwane City before travelling to the Mother City to face Cape Town Spurs on 25 May.

The final fixture of the season for Kaizer Chiefs is against TS Galaxy however the date is yet to be decided by the Premier Soccer League.

Today’s match at the Athlone Stadium is scheduled to get underway at 15:30. The match will be televised live on SuperSport PSL.

Fortunately for many Cape Town City and Kaizer Chiefs fans, today’s match will be televised on SABC1.

We aren’t relieved – Johnson

“No, I don’t think anybody should be relieved. There are still five games left to go. We, as Kaizer Chiefs, are not relieved with that,” Amakhosi head coach told members of the media as quoted by FarPost.

“If it were the other way around, fine wins and then today we had a draw, then maybe we would be upset. I think we have just turned a little bit of a corner. So we just need to prepare ourselves better for the next game.

“We played according to the plan. Also, we knew the type of game we are going to have that it was going to be a very physical game,”

In other news, Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma has opened up on his incredible rise to stardom at Naturena.

After playing second fiddle to Itumeleng Khune for over six years, Bvuma has finally cemented his place as the club’s number one keeper.

“I can’t describe how it feels like to play for Kaizer Chiefs, it’s one of the biggest teams in Africa. It’s every child’s dream to play for his team. We grew up watching Chiefs at a very young age and for me to be part of this brand it’s a blessing,” Bvuma told Vodacom Soccer as quoted by Citizen.

“I thank God for getting here. Like I said, it’s been my dream since I was young watching the likes of Itumeleng (Khune). He is a legend. Therefore I grew up watching him a lot, Brian Baloyi and all the legends of Kaizer Chiefs. They inspired me to also come here and play because for me to be here now is just a blessing.”
