Kaizer Chiefs: Pitso Mosimane IN, Cavin Johnson and Zwane OUT?

Mosimane to Chiefs is the dream move for most, if not all, Amakhosi supporters. However, it could set off massive changes amongst their technical staff.

Kaizer Chiefs have their best chance of signing Pitso Mosimane yet. However, if they do, there will be massive changes.

Amakhosi management want to sign a new coach at the end of the season.

Interestingly, Mosimane’s short-term deal with Al Abha comes to an end at the same time. Meaning, Jingles will be available with the Soweto giants lurking and in need of a coach of his magnitude. However, if Amakhosi are to successfully sign Pitso, they may have to axe and demote some of their current coaching staff.

MOSIMANE WOULD COME AT A COST TO CHIEFS

Mosimane has earned millions in coaching the likes of Al Alhli in Saudi Arabia and Al Wahda.

Furthermore, he is currently in charge of Al Abha in Saudi Arabia. So, if Amakhosi are to secure him, they will have to dig deep into their pockets.

So, signing Mosimane will cost Amakhosi personnel in addition to finance. Mosimane insists that any club he joins must allow him to bring his own technical staff. Therefore, in order for the Soweto giants to sign Mosimane, they may have to consider letting go of the likes of Arthur Zwane. He is currently assistant coach.

JOHNSON SET TO RETURN TO HEAD OF ACADEMY

Meanwhile, Johnson is set to return to his role as Chiefs head of academy at the end of the season.

He was appointed on an interim basis and was initially set to take over until January 2024. However, he impressed management during the start of his tenure, so they decided to extend his time as manager until the end of the season. Unfortunately, he has struggled to build on this with Amakhosi being eliminated by minnows Milford FC in the Nedbank Cup round of 16. Therefore, he is set to step down and return to his former role at the end of the season.
