Kaizer Chiefs have been given a glimmer of hope in their pursuit for a quality coach of Pitso Mosimane’s calibre.

Mosimane continues to be linked with a possible return to South Africa with Chiefs pushed to acquire his services before it’s too late.

The Kagiso-born mentor is currently in Saudi Arabia where he’s tasked with saving the status of Abha FC in their Pro League.

Mosimane signed a short-term contract with Abha as the mandate had always been to ensure that the club doesn’t get relegated at the end of the season.

Now, a section of Amakhosi fans are hoping for Chiefs to snatch him soon after the expiry of his contract with Abha FC.

But for others, this looks far fetched as Mosimane may not come cheap in terms of his high salary and the fact that he has his own technical team.

However, Mosimane’a agent and wife Moira Tlhagale said it’s possible for the former Sundowns coach to return to the PSL.

Tlhagale said Mosimane’s possible return doesn’t hinge on reported high salary demands but also on the condition that he comes with his own technical team.

WILL KAIZER CHIEFS JUMP AT OPPORTUNITY TO SIGN MOSIMANE?

“I think it’s just agreeing on terms,” Tlhagale told KickOff.

“I believe people think it’s impossible because they assume it is only about (salary) numbers, and there are a lot of numbers that are being thrown out there, but we’ll let them throw numbers.

“If the terms and conditions are acceptable, he will come back… One of the conditions is that the coaches comes with his technical team. You can’t just come along and say, ‘no, don’t come with your team’.”

AMAKHOSI READY TO COMPROMISE

Now, with Mosimane not compromising on working with his own technical team, the question is whether or not Chiefs are ready for that.

Well, as Soccer Laduma previously reported, the Chiefs hierarchy has had a change of heart on the procedure of appointing new coaches.

Previously, Chiefs would hire a coach and afford him an opportunity to bring with him his own assistant but also have a second assistant preferably a club legend who understands the club’s culture.

However, they are now reported to be willing to allow whoever they appoint next season to come with his own back room staff.

Chiefs missed out on Nasreddine Nabi at the start of the season after not agreeing to let him assemble his own technical team as per HollywoodBets Sports Blog.
